Provident Federal Credit Union is a member owned. not-for-profit financial institution that provides a convenient place for members to save money and to get loans at reasonable rates. Our checking, savings & investment accounts are all designed to meet your individual needs.
Your savings are federally insured to at least $250,000 and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government, NCUA, National Credit Union Administration, a U.S. Government Agency. All of our excess profits are returned to our members in providing higher dividend rates, lower loan rates and additional services at lower costs. “People Helping People” that’s what Provident Federal Credit Union is all about.
Our History
Provident Federal Credit Union was founded in 1964, as Jello-Employees Federal Credit Union to provide affordable financial services for the employees and family members of General Foods, in Dover, DE. In 1990 General Foods became Kraft General Foods, and after a corporate restructure it then became Kraft Foods. In the early 1990s the credit union was renamed “Provident Federal Credit Union. Provident FCU currently serves approximately 1500 members.
